Frozen shoulder

The Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (adhesive capsulitis) leads very quickly to a painful and immobile shoulder. The course is quite well to predict, but for the patient often dramatic and unpleasant. Especialls patients aged between 40 and 60 years are affected by the Frozen Shoulder Syndrome. Women are more often affected than men.

25 Percent of the patients are — usually in a quick process — even affected in both shoulders. The duration of the illness ranges from one up to three years. The course of the disease cannot be affected by physio- or manualtherapy, but it is very important to mantain during the phase of the frozen shoulder the greatest flexibility and strength of the shoulder joint.
