Hip replacement

(Hip joint endoprosthesis)

When replacing the hip joint it is an aim to replace as less body’s own structure as possible with implants. Often only the femoral head or acetabulum is replaced. For advanced degenerative changes or major damages, for example from an accident, the use of a total hip arthroplasty is necessary. After an injury a specific force training to build the muscles around the hip joint and to strenghten the full ability wo walk again is essential.
