Knee endoprothesis

The knee prosthesis is mainly used for severe degenerative diseases of the joint (knee arthritis) and after injuries to the knee as a surgical treatment for a pain-free mobility restoration. Depending on the severity of damage a partial or total prostheses are used. After the hip prothesis the knee prosthesis is the second most common endoprosthesis.

A training to strengthen the knee muscles after surgery is essential to regain the full ability to walk.
